Mennonite Magazines and Newspapers
The following printings are not done in Belize but by their brethren in North America and circulated among the Mennonite communities worldwide.
Die Mennonitische Post
Published by the Altkolonnie Mennonites in northern Mexico, it is a monthly newspaper distributed among the Old Colony and Kliene Gemeinde Mennonites here in Belize; except for business advertising in Spanish, the rest is written in German and contains major news of their type of Mennonites from all over the world. There is also a small spiritually toned German pamphlet that is distributed among the KG of Belize, it contains about 4 pages and is more of a gospel tract.
CAM Newsletter
Christian Aid Ministries, headquartered in Berlin, Ohio but with agencies in many countries, publishes a monthly newsletter with colorful photos depicting orphans, war torn countrysides, disasters, etc. The aim of it is to raise awareness of the needs of humans around the globe and of the many ways available to help them. This newsletter is printed by the organization, which is operated by a majority of Beachy, Amish Mennonite, and other conservative Mennonites. The organization works together with Christian Light Publications, a publishing company operated by the same type of people. An admirable and noteworthy fact is that these 2 companies are actually channels through which other conservative Mennonite branches may help those in need without becoming directly involved with the government and other official paperwork or charity institutions.
CLP also has a printing shop in Costa Rica, from which comes the Spanish La Antorcha de la Verdad, a small but popular monthly magazine minus photos. Both of the above mentioned books are distributed in Belize among the KG, Holdeman, Beachy, and Conservative groups.
In addition, CLP prints out thousands of school books used in many Mennonite schools, in Belize being the KG, Holdeman, Beachy and other Conservatives.
They also print Beside the Still Waters in multiple languages. It is a bimonthly devotional booklet.
La Luz del Mundo
Is a small, plain Spanish magazine with hand-drawn pictures published by Rod & Staff, a printshop owned by a conservative Amish Mennonite church in the US. It is published monthly and mostly handed out as a gospel tract in Belize by a few Mennonites. It is also printed in German.
Messenger of Truth
A completely spiritual magazine printed semi-monthly by Gospel Publishers. The publishing company is run by the Holdeman church in Moundridge, Kansas. Plain, simple black and white papers stapled together, without any pictures, designs, news, and advertisements; at the back is an obituary and a list of new members added. It is mostly a collection of spiritual thoughts, opinions and advices written by anyone who wants to, provided the writers are baptized members of the Holdeman church. However, the publishing company does print out other stuff too, such as story books, Bibles and hymnals.
Youth's Companion
Printed by an Amish group in the US and distributed among some of the Old Order Mennonites in Belize, it is a plain, thick black and white magazine with handrawn pictures, recipes, poems, stories and bits of news.
